The Perfect “Writer’s Bag!”

2014-10-21 13.04.27

We just found the perfect “writer’s bag.”  It holds an Ipad, a book, and a good chunk of manuscript.  It’s made of buffalo leather and superbly designed by Merlin’s Hideout in Thermopolis, Wyoming.  Not only that, the shoulder strap is wide and sturdy, so it distributes the weight better, and doesn’t feel heavy.  (which Kathy really appreciates) We love this store. Everything is handmade from top quality leather.  We’ll be carrying our Writer’s Bag on the next trip stuffed with the first 250 pages of the Book II in the People of the Morning Star series.

Hope all is well in your world.  It’s starting to feel like autumn here, with temperatures in the mid-thirties at night, but lovely 70 degree days.

Great time at PEOPLE OF THE EARTH DAYS in Thermopolis, Wyoming

Hi All! Well, the first ever PEOPLE OF THE EARTH DAYS is over, but we’re still smiling. We met so many wonderful people, and we had such fun! We have to tell you, the events were spectacular, but from a personal perspective, our favorite was the ice cream and coffee hour at the Black Bear Café. Intimate, one-on-one, that was special for us. However, the trips to Legend Rock Petroglyphs, Wind River Canyon, and the Wyoming Dinosaur Center were like little mini-vacations. We are grateful to have had the expert guidance of John Fish, Barb Vietti, and Greg Willson. Each event was so different, and so educational, we loved each one. The Thermopolis Chamber of Commerce is already working on how to make it better, with new and fascinating events. Thanks tremendously to all of you who filled out the comment cards. The Chamber is listening! Your observations and recommendations DID count. If you’re considering attending next year, please go to: thermopolischamber.org, and click on PEOPLE OF THE EARTH DAYS, and let the chamber know! Next year the event will be held at the same time as the nightly rodeo–and should be tremendously fun. We can’t wait! Hope to see you all there!

Fun Channel 13 Interview!

We recently sat down with Amanda del Castillo at Channel 13 in Casper, Wyoming, to talk about the upcoming PEOPLE OF THE EARTH DAYS in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Amanda did a great job! Thanks so much. http://www.kcwy13.com/todayinwyoming/headlines/Thermopolis-Introduces-People-of-the-Earth-Days-262370811.html

People of the Earth Days, June 27-29, 2014

Hi All, This should be a fun summer event. We’ll be leading a tour to the Legend Rock Petroglyph site–ancient rock carvings–just outside of Thermopolis, Wyoming, where we will talk about prehistoric cultures in Wyoming’s Bighorn Basin. The scenery is gorgeous and at the end of June the wildflowers should be in full bloom. We’ll also be conducting a short writer’s conference, “Heroes, Villains, and Plots,” and we’ll leading a tour to look at the buffalo in Hot Springs State Park to talk about the history, habits, and conservation of North American bison. Many of the events associated with PEOPLE OF THE EARTH DAYS are free, but some do have a cost, to pay for bus drivers, equipment rentals, etc. We’re donating our time for this event. Also, the tour of the Wyoming Dinosaur Center, and geological tour with biologist Greg Willson is not to be missed! The Big Horn Basin has some of the oldest primates in the world, as well as a rich dinosaur heritage. It will be a fun learning experience for both adults and children! For more information: Thermopolis Chamber of Commerce, 877-864-3192, or www.thermopolischamber.org. We hope we see you there. Mike and Kathy
