Great short new blog about writing advice

Hi All,

We all have such limited time these days, it’s a relief to find a shorty pithy blog!  This is a new site that interviews authors about writing tips and advice.  We think you’ll love it.  http://ksjones.com/inspiring-writers/

Hope everyone is staying warm out there.  It’s 8 degrees in Wyoming.  We’re dreaming of Spring…

Back home after a tough week

The past thirty days have been an adventure, ranging from family heart attacks, to major blizzards, to good old fashioned angst.  Who knew that such a thing as an Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator existed?  Fascinating  scientific achievement.  If the heart starts to beat in a fast irregular rhythm the ICD stabilizes it.  If the heart stops, the ICD restarts it.  What a medical miracle.  Thank you, Boston Scientific for creating such a device.  You helped us to keep a beloved family member with us.

On another front, we just finished the final edit for PEOPLE OF THE SONGTRAIL, about Viking contact with North America’s native people’s one thousand years ago.  We are eagerly looking forward to holding the hardcover in our hands—coming in 10671291_10204899371671375_49313415769689754_nMay, 2015!

PEOPLE OF THE THUNDER ebook on sale

10671291_10204899371671375_49313415769689754_nWe are eagerly anticipating the release of our next hardcover, PEOPLE OF THE SONGTRAIL, which chronicles  First Contact between Vikings and the native peoples of North America.  Coming in May of 2015!

Another blizzard in Wyoming…

imageWe got up at 5:15 am to walk the dogs and the sky to the west was a roiling black wall.  At 6 am the blizzard hit and it’s still coming down.  Hope we can find the snowmobile trail we cut to the ranch yesterday.  At least we know the buffalo have plenty of food.  Hope you are all warm!

We made it to the ranch! Miracle of miracles…

It was a good day today! We finally made it into the ranch to check on the buffalo. We’ve gotten so much snow that our road has been snowed closed. Breaking trail with the snowmobile proved to be a little unnerving at times, but we made it, and found the buffalo serenely bedded down in the field in front of the house with their coats shining in the sunlight. They looked at us as though to say, “You were worried about US?! We’re buffalo, you idiot humans.” We threw them out hay and gave them a bucket of their favorite alfalfa cake, then headed back into town. Thermopolis has not had this much snow since 1996, so old instincts are taking a while to kick in. Over the next few days, we will get the snowmobile trail packed down so that it’s easier to travel. Happy New Year to Everyone!
