This is one of those young adult novels that every adult will want to read. It’s filled with wonderful characters and a heartwarming story set in the midst of America’s darkest days, the Great Depression. Jones’ voice is reminiscent of Steinbeck’s at his best.

Hi All!  Our publisher just lowered the price of the e-book of PEOPLE OF THE MASKS to $2.99 for a limited time.  If you need it for your e-collection, now’s the time to get it!   This book has some of our favorite child characters, Little Wren and Rumbler.    Hope you enjoy them as much as we did.

  Hi All!  It’s rare when we read a first novel that we like as much as this one.  SHADOW OF THE HAWK, by K.S. Jones,  is centered around a murder trial during the Great Depression.  Along with the other challenges of surviving during the Depression,  young Sooze Williams must find a way to save her brother from a murder he didn’t commit.  Or did he?  This is our READ OF THE MONTH.  Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

We’ve had a few warm days here.  As a result, we finally managed to get the snow plowed from our road and we are finally driving in and out of the ranch, which is a huge relief.  

People of the Earth Days 2015

For those who might be interested, here’s the schedule for the PEOPLE OF THE EARTH DAYS event, which we are really looking forward to.  We had such fun last year exploring the local archaeology, paleontology, and geology.  Keep in mind that everyone involved in this project is an educator.  No one is paid.  It’s an all volunteer effort and we all love it.  Hope you can join us the end of June!
