MAZE MASTER and the ancient story of Daedalus
- Friday, 15 June 2018 07:25
COMING IN JULY, 2018!
Daedalus is famous for his clever inventions and as the architect of the Minotaur’s labyrinth on Crete. He was also the father of Icarus who flew too close to the sun. He played an interesting role in MAZE MASTER.
In the story, Dr. James Hakari, known to his genetics students as the Maze Master, has vanished. But all around the world he’s leaving clues to a maze that must be deciphered if the world is to survive. Here’s the question that both Daedalus and Hakari had to answer: How do you create a maze to hold the most terrifying beast in the world? Is it possible? Or will the beast always escape…

It’s a beautiful day here in Wyoming. We’ve had snow for the past two days, but it’s melting fast this morning. The wild turkeys are out flapping up to eat out of the bird feeders, and the buffalo are grazing the meadow in front of the house. High up on the mountain, a small herd of elk is bedded down in the snow en
enjoying the sunshine.
Our latest book in the Cahokia series just came out a few days ago! MOON HUNT. Hope you enjoy it!
Have a great day,
Mike and Kathy

End of July
- Thursday, 27 July 2017 05:47
It’s been hot here. Well hot for us, in the low 90s. The grass is finally starting to turn a rich summer tan, but all of our springs are still running. The buffalo love these secret water sources hidden in treed drainages around the ranch.
We’re having fun working on PEOPLE OF THE CANYONS, about the Fremont culture–such a fascinating prehistoric people!
On these hot days, keep in mind that the cool temperatures of autumn are just around the corner.

JUST BACK FROM THRILLERFEST in New York!
- Tuesday, 18 July 2017 09:14
We just returned from ThrillerFest in New York. This is the finest writers’ conference in America. One of the best parts is just sitting around and catching up with old friends. But THE best part this year was getting the new galley of Mike’s civil war novel, THIS SCORCHED EARTH, which comes out in April of 2018. Our editor, Claire Eddy, is doing such a beautiful job with this book. Thanks to everyone at Forge Books for all their hard work.
Hope you are all happy and healthy, and having a wonderful July.
