Snowy Day

Hi All!

It’s a beautiful day here in Wyoming. We’ve had snow for the past two days, but it’s melting fast this morning. The wild turkeys are out flapping up to eat out of the bird feeders, and the buffalo are grazing the meadow in front of the house. High up on the mountain, a small herd of elk is bedded down in the snow en

enjoying the sunshine.

Our latest book in the Cahokia series just came out a few days ago!  MOON HUNT.  Hope you enjoy it!

Have a great day,

Mike and Kathy

Ah, April in Wyoming…

It’s a snowy day here. We are in the midst of a good old fashioned Wyoming spring blizzard. The wild turkeys are huddled in the trees around the house with their heads tucked beneath their wings in defense. The buffalo, of course, are out frolicking in the meadow. They love this cool spring weather.

Hope you are all happy and healthy today!

A snowy April day in Wyoming

2016-12-11 10.49.03We woke this morning to find four inches of fresh snow covering the red cliffs, and forty-nine elk standing on the mountain slope in front of the house. We made coffee and sat in front of the window to watch them peacefully graze down the mountain to the creek below.  As we did, we could hear the buffalo calling to each other in the meadow.  They love cool spring mornings best of all.  There’s new green grass, but no biting flies yet.

Perfection is made of April mornings like this…

Hope you have a peaceful and perfect day!

Almost spring at Red Canyon Ranch, Wyoming

Well, the snow is almost all melted from the canyon ledges, and it’s turned out to be a gorgeous day here.  Almost feels like spring at Red Canyon Ranch.

Nebi, an orphaned buffalo calf that we raised on bottles of goat's milk.

It’s autumn and the oldest buffalo calves are just about weaned.  We can tell because the mothers kick at them when they try to nurse.  In a couple of months, they will all be on a grass diet.  They’re so beautiful this time of year.  They’re losing their summer coats and growing heavy winter hair.
